2009 LOIS CRANSTON MEMORIAL POETRY PRIZE

The 2009 Lois Cranston Memorial Poetry Prize contest submission dates are March 1 through May 31, 2009. Complete guidelines and contest details are available here, or by E-mail at calyx@proaxis.com, or by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to CALYX.

CALYX, a most unusual word—as the outer covering, the calyx, of a flower opens to reveal the blossom, so does CALYX open to reveal the achievements of women in the arts today.

CALYX is an independent, nonprofit publisher of contemporary writing and art by women committed to discovering emerging writers and artists from a diversity of backgrounds. CALYX, Inc. includes CALYX, A  Journal of Art and Literature by Women (published semi-annually) and CALYX Books.

The annual open period for submissions of prose and poetry to CALYX Journal is October 1 through December 31 (postmarked dates). The Lois Cranston Memorial Poetry Prize is open for submissions from March 1 to May 31 annually. Go to the Poetry Prize page for guidelines.
