M. L. Brown is the author of Drought, winner of the Claudia Emerson Poetry Chapbook Award, forthcoming from jmww in 2016. Her poems have been published in various journals and anthologies including Blackbird, PMS PoemMemoirStory, Gertrude, and Not Somewhere Else, But Here: a Contemporary Anthology of Women and Place. Formerly a grassroots organizer, M. L. Brown devotes her time, when not working to her poetry and raising funds for a nonprofit health care clinic.
