Marni Jenkins Visual Art Prize
Prize: $400 cash prize. The Winner will be published in CALYX Journal. Winner and all finalists will receive a one-volume subscription to CALYX Journal and publication on CALYX’s website. Winners will be announced in January.
Dates: July 1 – November 30, 2026

Please submit up to six pieces of visual art (photos of sculpture, textile work, and other three-dimensional pieces are welcome). Simultaneous submissions are discouraged. The CALYX editorial collective considers all submissions first, then selects 20 finalists to send to the final judge.
AI Policy: CALYX has a strict anti-AI policy. Please do not submit any work that has been generated using AI tools.

About the Judge
Betty LaDuke’s paintings, books, and numerous exhibitions draw inspiration from immersive exploration of cultural diversity around the world, with an emphasis on women’s creative contributions, food security, and social change. Her art can be found in collections across Oregon, including the Portland Art Museum, Schneider Museum of Art, Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, Hallie Ford Museum of Art, Oregon State University, Medford Airport, and the Oregon State Capitol. She lives in Ashland, OR.

About the Contest
Meredith “Marni” Jenkins was a founding member of CALYX Press, an accomplished photographer and painter, and a passionate advocate for feminist art and literature. This contest is established in her name to encourage bold new visual art that challenges convention and explores the broad experiences and perspectives of women and nonbinary artists.
