CALYX Journal is known for discovering important writers, such as Julia Alvarez, Paula Gunn Allen, Olga Broumas, Natalie Goldberg, Barbara Kingsolver, and Sharon Olds, among the more than 3,800 writers published during our first 32 years. CALYX was the first to publish the artwork of Frida Kahlo in color in the U.S. In 1980 CALYX also featured work by the Nobel

Laureate poet Wislawa Szymborska--the first English translations of her work published in the U.S. CALYX is the recipient of the Oregon Governor’s Arts Award, the Stanley H. Holbrook Award from Oregon Literary Arts, Pushcart Prizes, and American Literary Magazine Awards, among others.

CALYX Journal subscriptions offer a great savings. A one-volume subscription (3 issues) is $23 for individuals and $29 for Institutions/Libraries. A two-volume subscription (6 issues) is $41 for individuals.
Add $25 for Other International postage per volume, or $15 per volume for Canada and Mexico. Single issues of CALYX Journal are $10 plus $4 shipping and handling (NOTE: INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING IS $8 - please add the $4 if it does not show up on your Paypal form). Due to their rarity, a few back issues are priced higher.
